Oh yeah, that's it right there
Goldspilling puddle
Halo of warmth
I feel my fur sparking
Sparkling glittery warm
Heaven on earth
Sinking into the rug like
Iridiscent oil
Serenity in dust motes
Highlightsparkles dance
Rejoice in your ephemeral existence
For the pleasure in life
The happiness of curling up
Bright and warm and flying
Flying with the heady buzz
Drunk with fine wine tingling
Down nerves up veins
Singing through your lifeblood
Yeah, right here
Curled in the vortex of perfect contentment
That brightdazzling slanting downpour
Of sunshine.
See me? Over here? Look at me, please. No, look at me. Don't turn your back. Don't walk away. Please. I need you to look at me, listen to me. You can't see me now. All you can do is just turn around, walk away, without even noticing. Please. Stop. Come back. Please. Please?
She followed him, harangued him, danced circles around him in desperation, all to no avail. He walked up the brick sidewalk between the tennis courts and the playground swiftly, ignoring the *thwock* of tennis rackets and the screams of exhilarated little children. In a world of color, he was black and she was white, and he couldn't see her, wouldn't shouldn't see her. Pa
Children laughing in the sun
Is their play just innocent fun?
Grownups don't know us at all
Patronize us till we fall
Chrome and leather cherubim
Black wings open in the wind
Crosses tattooed on their backs
Playing with explosive jacks
Gumdrop children sitting pretty
Kicking coke cans 'cross the city
Take your chances on the railroad track
Once you're there, no turning back
Can't know nothing you don't know
Can't do nothing; nowhere to go
Demons dance on the head of a pin
No one loses; you can't win
Empty words to feed false ears
Crying hollow cyanide tears
Whispered promises written in sand
Swept away with a wave of a hand
None of this ever happened
None of this was ever real
Not the way you said you loved me
Not the way you made me feel
Remember spring, when we first met
I was lonely, I was blue
You came and cheered me up
Made me fall in love with you
None of this ever happened
All it was was make-believe
A foolish longing for empathy
Harmony we never achieved
We spent all summer together
Talking, laughing, hand in glove
We promised each other moon and stars
Swore on our deathless love
None of this ever happened
I never knew you at all
What worth "forever and a day" now?
You knew the day would never come
And in fall, when we parted
We prom
I have seen the Yellow River
Tumbling, roaring to the sea
I have seen the Borealis
Fantastic lights swirling on me.
I have seen scenes of destruction
Bringing grown men to their knees
Yet also I've seen resurrection
Love performing miraculous deeds
Dragon, dragon, take me away
Twirling, twisting in the sky
Phoenix, phoenix, come then with me
Wings of our souls let us fly
Sunlight, salt, and ocean roar
Make the sand beneath my feet
An eagle's cry, a dragonfly's wink
Are the blue of sky that my eyes meet.
Spread your arms and taste the power
At the edge of land and water
Close your eyes and see the currents

Normally, there weren't really a lot of stars in the sky. Well, none that you could see, that is. The little piping piccolos of shining pinpoints tended to be inevitably drowned out by the blaring trumpets and French horns and tubas of streetlamps, lighted signs, stray windows whose inhabitants weren't quite asleep yet.
But sometimes, if you ran far enough out to the countryside, to where the streetlamps and signs and windows were no more than stars themselves, and stood (or lay down) on a flat enough area, you could watch the piccolos hesitantly, shyly tuning up, flickering in the edges of peripheral vision as if too diffident to really app

Breathe. In. Stroke. Out. Breathe. Over and over. Ignore the pain in your legs, your arms, the fatigue in your entire body. One more lap. Two more laps. Over and over. Don't stop. Stopping is weakness. Stopping means you need rest, you're tired already. Keep stroking, keep kicking. Ignore the burning in your lungs, the feeling that you're going to drown in exhaustion. Look down. Watch the tiles slide smoothly past you. You're doing fine. Keep going. Over and over. How many? Not enough. Never enough.
He saw it as he staggered into the locker rooms, shaking water from his hair. The resentment. They were a class, a grade, a school building of g
The raven slid silently through the trees, attracted by the smell of blood and death. It landed on the edge of a clearing and stared at the scene below with beadily bright black eyes.
Darien knelt beside Sadien's prone form, staring dully at the blood pooling on the grass. Sadien, his friend, his comrade, his brother... They had played together, fought together, grown up together, swore to die together...
"Catch me, Sadie!" Darien shouted as he swung out of the tree. They tumbled into a breathless, laughing heap on the warm green grass, tussling joyfully. They were young, they were alive, they were together... what more could they wish for?
She stood quietly next to what looked like the only bush on the rocky canyon, clutching its prickly leaves until her hands bled. The pain kept her from going dizzy and falling over the edge prematurely.
Forward, back.
She swayed slightly, biting her lower lip in abstraction. Blood ran down her fingers in thin, delicate trickles, dripping on the sandstone near her beat-up favorite sneakers.
Forward, back.
Her thin t-shirt didn't do much to keep off the breeze, but it went well with her jeans. Little things. It was the little things what mattered.
Forward, back.
Little things like him, like the bruise of his lips against hers, the caress

Around now is the time when it's easier to let everything go to hell than try to fix it all up. Not worth the patching, 'cause in a couple months we're gonna go to college and everything will reset. So just play along as much as needed and wait for the day we're dispersed to the four winds...
New year, new "one single post for a year"... though last year I did three actually... hah.
*random boredom when I'm supposed to go to sleep or something*
Bah. Junior year sucks. And I'm almost afraid of senior year... *eyes all the seniors moaning about their apps askance* >_>;;;
